Help
Stuck on something? Here’s where to turn.
Look it up
- Get Started walks through a whole analysis, from reading a file to summarising the movement.
- Each package’s site has a help page for every function, with examples. Packages links to them all.
- Learn collects tutorials on specific problems.
Ask a question
Ask on the animovement Zulip chat. It’s the place for questions of every kind, from how to do something to why a result looks odd. Searching it first often turns up an answer straight away.
You’ll get a useful answer much faster if you include:
- A small example that shows the problem. The best is a few lines of code that anyone can run, using
get_sample_data()or a few made-up rows rather than your own files. The reprex package helps. - What you expected, and what happened instead.
- Your versions, from
animovement_sitrep().
Using an AI assistant?
AI assistants often guess at function names, and in a young ecosystem like this one they often guess wrong. The animovement agent skill gives an assistant such as Claude Code a map of which package does what and how the data is structured, and tells it to check each function against the current documentation rather than relying on memory. In Claude Code:
/plugin marketplace add animovement/animovement-agents
/plugin install animovement@animovement
Other assistants can use the same skills; see animovement-agents for how. Each package’s site also has an llms.txt, a plain list of its functions that any assistant can read, such as animetric’s.
Found a bug?
If something is clearly broken, or you’d like a feature that doesn’t exist yet, please file an issue. Contribute explains how, and where.
